James is a Pocatello native and a graduate of West Point (’93). He served as a military intelligence officer in the U.S. Army in Germany, the Middle East, and throughout the United States. He then returned to Idaho where he graduated from the University of Idaho College of Law (’01). James served in the Idaho Legislature from 2006-10 and from 2020-current. He is the Idaho Senate Assistant Minority Leader. He has served as the president of the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association and is a past recipient of the Idaho Trial Lawyer of the Year Award and the Idaho State Bar Professionalism Award. James is a proud 5th Generation Idahoan with expertise in cases involving personal injury, workers’ compensation, and insurance disputes.

Joel is a native of Aberdeen and earned his Communication degree with a Spanish minor from the University of Utah in (‘98), followed by his J.D. from the University of Idaho College of Law in (‘02). Returning to Southeast Idaho, he has built a distinguished career, serving on the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association Board, the Sixth District Magistrate Commission for the Idaho State Bar, and the American Falls School Board. Joel has also contributed to the community through service on various non-profit boards, including the Community Council of Idaho and most recently Friends of the Children. Recognized by the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Civil Plaintiff Trial Lawyers in Idaho, Joel brings deep local roots and expertise to cases involving personal injury, workers' compensation, and insurance disputes.
